For Patients
Hospital Amenities for Patients
In-room Food Service
“At Your Request” is a convenient
service that allows patients and/or a family member more freedom and
flexibility for meal times and meal selections. A printed menu is available
in each room. Disposable menus are available for family members to
take home or call in a meal request. Meal requests can be placed any
time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Once a patient has requested his/her
meal, the tray will be delivered within approximately 45 minutes.
A team of trained staff is also available to assist
in choosing meal items that are suitable for a patient’s dietary
needs.
Mail Service
Mail is delivered once a day. Any mail received
after the patient leaves the hospital will be forwarded to that individual’s
home. Postage stamps are available in the gift shop. A mailbox for sending
mail is located across from the chapel by the west elevators.
Newspaper Delivery
The Washington Times is delivered
with each patient’s
breakfast (except in the intensive care and critical care units)
Monday through Friday. We also deliver the Spanish weekly newspaper, Tiempos
Del Mundo.
Healing Garden
Holy Cross Hospital is committed to healing the mind, body and spirit

to the hospital, you will find a healing garden (dedicated to the congregation
of the Sisters of the Holy Cross) where patients and loved ones can
