Holy Cross Hospital also recognized the founders — the Sisters of the Holy Cross — and the physicians, employees, trustees, volunteers and Auxiliary members who have served the community by providing exceptional care, helping those in need, innovating to respond to evolving health care needs, and sharing new knowledge with a friendly, caring spirit. View a specially commissioned one-of-a-kind three-dimensional custom artwork made from 205 miniaturized photographs, news articles, brochures and commemorative items that represent significant events and key messages during Holy Cross Hospital’s 50-year history. The artwork will soon be displayed in the hospital's lobby for all to enjoy.

The Future
Nearly 50 years ago, Holy Cross Hospital opened as a 226-bed acute care general service hospital. Today, with 442 beds and caring for more than 196,000 patients each year, it is one of the largest hospitals in the state of Maryland. And it continues to grow. By enlarging and modernizing its facility in Silver Spring and building a new hospital in Germantown, Holy Cross Hospital will be able to continue to provide high-quality health care for the next 50 years and beyond.
