Holy Cross Appoints New Radiology Medical Director - Asante M. Dickson, M.D

Holy Cross Health welcomes Asante M. Dickson, MD as the new medical director of Radiology. In this role, he will lead and help build an employed radiology physician group to provide services at Holy Cross Hospital and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital. Dr. Dickson who specializes in neuroradiology and interventional radiology comes to us most recently from Howard University Hospital. Prior to that, Dr. Dickson served as chairman of the Department of Radiology at Adventist Healthcare White Oak Medical Center and was an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at Winthrop University Hospital School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he also completed his radiology residency.
Dr. Dickson received his Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University, Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and completed his neuroradiology fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. He holds a certification from the American Board of Radiology with an additional qualification in Neuroradiology. Dr. Dickson is a member of numerous professional societies including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, National Medical Association, and American Society of Neuroradiology.
Dr. Dickson is widely published in medical journals and books and has appeared on numerous television networks and podcasts discussing neuroradiological advances and health equity. He has received numerous awards in the field of clinical medicine, but his two most cherished awards are the RISES Award for Physician Integrity from Adventist Healthcare and The Michael J. Caruso Memorial Award for humanitarian principles in patient care from the State of New York. Notably, he is the first and only radiologist to ever win the RISES award to date. Outside of his clinical duties, Dr. Dickson has cofounded an organization dedicated to the educational support of students pursuing careers in medicine.
