Joint Commission Gold Seal for Joint Replacement and Spine SurgeryHoly Cross Hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement, and is the first hospital in Montgomery County to receive Spine Surgery Certification.

"Holy Cross Hospital is pleased to receive Disease-Specific Care Certification from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation,” said Judith Rogers, president, Holy Cross Hospital. “This acknowledges our culture of excellence for those in our community.”

These certifications recognize that Holy Cross Hospital is a center of excellence for both spine surgery and hip and knee joint replacement.

"The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval acknowledges the high quality care in our spine program at Holy Cross Hospital," added Phil Schneider, MD, orthopedic spine surgeon and medical director of the Holy Cross Hospital Spine Center. "It reinforces the fact that we have been providing and continue to provide wonderful care to our spine patients."

  2. Effective and consistent use of appropriate, evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for the discectomy, laminectomy, and spinal fusion patient populations
  3. Collection and analysis of a minimum of four performance measures specific to the spinal surgery patient population
