Holy Cross Hospital's Joint and Spine Centers Receive Blue Distinction Center Certification

Holy Cross Hospital has earned Blue Distinction Center+ certification for hip replacement, knee replacement and spine surgery from Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Blue Distinction Specialty Care Program is a national designation program recognizing healthcare facilities that demonstrate expertise in delivering quality specialty care — safely, effectively and, in the case of Blue Distinction Centers+, cost efficiently.

The designation is awarded to healthcare facilities based on a thorough, objective evaluation of their performance in the areas of quality care, treatment expertise and overall patient results, among others.

Holy Cross Hospital's comprehensive Joint Center, led by Antoni Goral, MD, medical director, offers a broad range of services and procedures — from pre-surgical planning to mobility and exercise classes to joint replacement surgery.

The hospital's Spine Center, led by Philip Schneider, MD, medical director, features the latest technology to pinpoint back and neck problems, and offers significant expertise in minimally invasive surgical procedures.

Last year, Holy Cross Hospital earned certification by The Joint Commission for Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement surgery, and it was the first hospital in Montgomery County to receive Spine Surgery Certification from the Commission.

This same level of expertise that has earned Holy Cross Hospital recognition for excellence in joint and spine care is also available to patients in upper Montgomery County at the new Holy Cross Germantown Hospital.
