About
Dr. James D. Bridges is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist with 33 years of experience in the field. Before attending medical school, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the United States Naval Academy and an master’s degree in Nuclear Chemistry from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Additionally, Dr. Bridges served as a Nuclear Engineer in the United States Naval Submarine Service.
After 29 years on active duty in the Navy, Dr. Bridges retired and transitioned to private practice in Montgomery County in 1998. Since then, he has provided Radiation Oncology services to thousands of cancer patients. While practicing as a general Radiation Oncologist, he developed a special interest in Prostate Cancer, with a focus on Prostate Brachytherapy—the placement of radioactive seeds in the prostate gland.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Bridges enjoys spending time with his family and reconnecting with military friends from his active-duty service.
