Comprehensive, Complex Care of Nervous System Disorders

The Neuroscience team at Holy Cross Hospital provides comprehensive neurology care services to diagnose and treat complex and common disorders affecting the body's nervous system.

The system is divided into two components: the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord. At Holy Cross Hospital we have assembled specialized care teams to diagnose and treat major vascular, functional and structural disorders of the central nervous system, such as stroke, epilepsy, brain tumor and injury and spinal tumors and injury.

We also provide evaluation and treatment of patients suffering from degenerative central nervous system illnesses, such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.

Peripheral nervous system illness and injury can affect a whole range of processes in the body including involuntary movement, perspiration, blood pressure, heart rate, sensations, as well as the skin, joints, and muscles.

Both degenerative diseases and disorders of the peripheral nervous system are often chronic and painful neurological problems. These problems can disrupt patients' daily lives and the lives of their families. That's why we take a comprehensive approach to care that fosters the fullest possible recovery, and enables patients to function well day-to-day.
