(Silver Spring, Md.) – To minimize the spread of flu to patients, family members, staff and visitors, Holy Cross Health hospitals, in conjunction with other Montgomery County hospitals, have implemented visitor restrictions during flu season. Effective Monday, Jan. 13, 2020:
- If you are a visitor and have symptoms of flu, such as fever, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches or cough, please do NOT visit the hospital.
- Visiting children under the age of 12 are not allowed in any inpatient care areas except to see a family member in end-of-life circumstances or to accompany a family member to the Emergency Center. Children also may accompany their family member visiting our OB/GYN Clinic but must remain in the waiting area and cannot be left unattended.
- If you are a patient or visitor who must be here and you have flu symptoms, you will be asked to wear a mask.
For your protection and that of those around you:
- Please remember to cover your coughs and sneezes, and properly dispose of used tissues.
- Hand hygiene is important. Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer in between hand washings.
These restrictions and precautions are necessary to help maintain health in our community and prevent further spread of flu. Thank you.
