Holy Cross Hospital Receives Excellence and Quality Awards For Fourth Consecutive Year

For the fourth consecutive year, Holy Cross Hospital has been recognized by The Joint Commission as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. Holy Cross Hospital is the only hospital in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia — and one of only 147 hospitals nationwide — to achieve this four-year distinction for four adult measures. The Joint Commission is the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States.

The Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care also recognized Holy Cross Hospital for quality improvement for the fourth consecutive year. The prestigious 2014 Excellence Award for Quality Improvement in Hospitals is awarded for performace improvement in four clinical areas — heart failure, pneumonia, immunizations and surgical care. The Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Maryland.
