Mr. Sexton was recognized for his significant impact on the Montgomery County business community during a ceremony held at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville.
Mr. Sexton has been president and CEO of Holy Cross Health since 1998. During that time, he guided Holy Cross Health through a significant expansion of health care facilities, including, most recently, the establishment of Holy Cross Germantown Hospital in October 2014, the opening of a fourth health center for the underserved in May 2015, and the opening of Holy Cross Hospital's 150-bed, seven-story South Building in November 2015, the hospital's most significant expansion in its 50 year history.
Three other business leaders were inducted into the Montgomery County Business Hall of Fame this year: Ron Paul, Chairman & CEO, EagleBank; Martine Rothblatt, Ph.D., CEO, United Therapeutics Corp; and Jim Sweet, President, Smokey Glen Farm Barbequers, Inc.
The Montgomery County Business Hall of Fame brings area business leaders together to raise support for the scholarship programs at The Universities at Shady Grove (USG), a regional educational center of the University System of Maryland.
