U.S. News & World Report has published its 2018-2019 national rankings of "America's Best Hospitals" and Holy Cross Hospital has once again ranked as one of the best in the area. Holy Cross Hospital was ranked seventh (tied) in the Washington, D.C. metro area and tenth (tied) out of 70 hospitals in the state of Maryland. This ranking makes Holy Cross Hospital the highest ranked hospital in Montgomery County.

“We are very pleased to once again be recognized as one of the top hospitals in the Washington, D.C., area and in the state of Maryland,” said Louis Damiano, MD, president, Holy Cross Hospital. “This recognition reflects the ongoing dedication and commitment of our excellent staff and physicians who deliver high quality health care to our patients every day at Holy Cross Hospital.”

Holy Cross Hospital also ranked as high performing —the highest rating possible — in the adult procedures/conditions of congestive heart failure, colon cancer surgery and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

U.S. News generates hospital rankings by evaluating data on nearly 5,000 hospitals in 16 adult specialties, 9 adult procedures and conditions and 10 pediatric specialties. To be nationally ranked or receive distinction in Procedures or Conditions ratings, a hospital must excel in caring for the sickest, most medically complex patients. Over the past 29 years, the Best Hospitals rankings have helped guide millions of patients and their families to high-quality hospital care when they need it most.
