Youth Art for Healing recently presented the Holy Cross Hospital Pediatric Center with 42 paintings and 24 ceiling tiles to help create a pleasant, peaceful and healing atmosphere for our young patients and their parents.
The paintings were created by the wonderfully talented students of Albert Einstein, Bethesda Chevy Chase and Walt Whitman High Schools, as part of a project hosted by Youth Art for Healing and funded by philanthropists Carol and Gary Berman.
The paintings feature fun scenes from the sea that coordinate well with the aquatic theme in the Holy Cross Hospital Pediatric Center. [See one of the ceiling tiles, already mounted!]
Youth Art for Healing is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring works of art created by youth into healthcare environments to provide a sense of comfort, inspiration and healing for patients and their loved ones, and healthcare professionals.
The program builds relationships with art programs in high schools in Montgomery County Maryland, engaging youth in contributing their skills to healing art.
