About
Dr. Mark Alan Steves, MD, FACS, is a distinguished surgical oncologist with over three decades of experience.
Throughout his career, he has specialized in complex primary and metastatic cancers, hepatobiliary surgery, and retroperitoneal sarcomas/GIST. Dr. Steves has made significant contributions to his field through research, publications, and clinical leadership, earning recognition as a Top Doctor by Northern Virginia Magazine. He is deeply committed to medical education and mentorship, serving as a clerkship director for surgical oncology and moderating courses and workshops on gastric and soft tissue neoplasms. Dr. Steves’ dedication to patient care extends beyond the operating room, as he actively participates in tumor boards and cancer liaison programs to optimize patient outcomes and improve cancer care delivery.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Emory College in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating Magna Cum Laude, before completing his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine, where he graduated Cum Laude. Dr. Steves has been board certified by the American Board of Surgery since 1991 and holds active licensure in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Steves enjoys spending time with his family and engaging in outdoor activities.
