About
Riny Karras, MD, is a board certified Cardiothoracic Vascular surgeon with Holy Cross Health Partners in Kensington. She has been in practice since July 2011 and specializes in minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery. Her areas of interest include lung cancer screening and early-stage lung cancer.
Karras earned her medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and completed her fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.
When asked what compelled her to enter the field of medicine, Karras shared “I entered medicine for multiple reasons, and helping individuals in their time of need is one of the most important.” She also appreciates that she can constantly learn new skill sets.
When she has spare time, Karras enjoys spending time with her family. She also finds painting to be a relaxing activity. Her art has been featured in multiple exhibits.
