More than 250 enthusiastic golfers, tennis players and nurse volunteers took part in the annual Holy Cross Health Golf and Tennis Classic on Monday, May 11, at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md. Thanks to the generous support of several corporate and physician sponsors and participants, this year's event surpassed its goal, raising more than $200,000 for Holy Cross Health's expansion projects and nursing excellence programs.

The sunny day of friendly competition on the green and on the court even included a memorable hole-in-one shot for one lucky golfer. Guests also heard from Kevin Sexton, president and CEO of Holy Cross Health, who shared how the event has brought in nearly $1.5 million for nursing excellence since 2007. This support ensures Holy Cross Health nurses receive training to help them provide excellent patient care and has increased the number of specialty certifications. ABC7/WJLA-TV reporter John Gonzalez, a Maryland native, served as the evening's master of ceremonies.

Congratulations to all of this year's golf and tennis winners, and thank you to our event committee and sponsors, especially Platinum Sponsor NMS Healthcare.
