Patient-Turned-Employee a Big Fan of Holy Cross Hospital

In 2003—when my daughter, Teko Henry, was 18—I gave birth to a stillborn, T’yana Latrell Hicks, at another hospital where I was working at the time. Shortly thereafter, I discovered I was pregnant again.

After my recent emotional and devastating experience, I was hopeful but also scared. I just couldn’t imagine arriving at a hospital once again with child and leaving without one.

So I started seeing the physicians at Holy Cross Hospital where I received the best prenatal care possible, and just prayed every day that things would go well. And they did. On April 8, 2004—one day after my own birthday—my healthy son, Treyon Xavier Hicks, was born. The physicians and nursing staff were remarkable, with superb bedside manners. My whole experience at Holy Cross Hospital was wonderful.

In 2007, I began experiencing the hospital from a different perspective when I joined the staff. Today, I have the pleasure of witnessing first-hand the extreme diligence that goes into caring for each and every patient on a daily basis.

Naturally, when Teko became pregnant, I recommended Holy Cross Hospital. Her experience was similar to mine and on May 30, 2009, she gave birth to my grandson, Patrick Arnez Warfield.

I am proud that not only were my son and grandson born at the one—the only Holy Cross Hospital of Montgomery County, Maryland—but I am now an employee of five years standing. Based upon my personal and professional experiences, I would refer anyone and everyone to Holy Cross Hospital, without reservation.
