Label Printers

The small zebra printers are quiet thermal label printers. To keep the printers running well, maintenance checks should be run daily. The Lab suggests that a position be assigned to this responsibility. 

Daily Maintenance Checks

• Always make sure the printer in plugged in.
• ALL IT connections are secure/ tight.
• The green light must be on and display a steady green light.
• Labels are loaded.
• Printer is free of obstruction.

What happens if my labels printed incorrectly? 
If the laboratory specimen collection labels are printed incorrectly or damaged during printing, the floor is not able to reprint them. You will have to cancel and re-order the test. If your printer is malfunctioning, please call 7400 to have someone inspect it. The lab can assist with reprinting under these circumstances.
