Conditions
Our Pain Management experts work with you to understand your type of pain to help you find relief and improve your quality of life. There are two types of pain, acute and chronic:
- Acute pain – short-term pain caused by an illness or injury, such as a broken ankle or shingles attack. Acute pain goes away as the body heals.
- Chronic pain – long-term pain that continues after the original injury has healed or is the result of a long-term condition, such as cancer. Treatment for chronic pain is often very different from treatment for acute pain.
