Holy Cross Health Network Internships

Internships in the Holy Cross Health Network are unpaid positions providing well-qualified university graduate and undergraduate students with practical experience in community health, community care delivery, and/or population health.

We accept interns on a volunteer basis. We encourage students to seek academic credit for the internship, and we will take reasonable steps to help interns comply with the requirements for that credit.

Most internships are for one college semester, but we also accept interns for summer breaks, shorter periods, or up to one full academic year. Hours per week vary depending upon the availability of supervision and projects appropriate for an intern as well as the student's schedule.

The Internship Experience

Students selected for internships gain on-the-job training that integrates education and career development. They will work directly with a Holy Cross Health Network preceptor who will provide supervision and mentoring. Together, the intern and preceptor will develop an internship plan identifying specific projects or assignments to ensure a meaningful learning experience. Interns are not accepted to perform administrative duties or to take the work of existing employees.

Internship Opportunities

Holy Cross Health Network offers internship opportunities in a variety of departments and settings including:

Not all departments listed above accept interns every semester.

Internship students come from a wide variety of educational programs including community health, public health, health administration, health information management, business, social work, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. At this time, Holy Cross Health does not offer internships in the areas related to Rehabilitation Services, Radiology, Laboratory, Dieticians, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant, etc. Clinical rotations are arranged directly with the student’s educational institution; Holy Cross Health also does not offer opportunities for international medical students.
