Cancel a Test

How do I cancel a test? 
Orders can be cancelled without notification to the Laboratory if it is done prior to the label printing. If the label has printed, it will be necessary to verbally notify the laboratory by calling. If the specimen has been collected you can still cancel the order. Once the order is received in the Laboratory, it cannot be cancelled.

What if the Lab cancels my test? 
If the Lab determines that a specimen is not acceptable, they will call the floor. The lab will explain why the specimen is unusable. The time, date, and name of the person notified will be documented. The Lab will not re-order the test. The test can be re-ordered at the discretion of the physician.
