Each year, approximately 10,000 babies are born at Holy Cross Hospital and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, more than any other health system in Maryland. Holy Cross Hospital also cares for more newborns with complex medical issues than any other hospital in Maryland or the District of Columbia. That same quality of maternity services is found at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, expanding access to the skill and expertise for which Holy Cross Hospital is known.

Holy Cross Health offers services that begin at the start of your pregnancy with prenatal care and continue to post-birth care for mother and newborn. Our maternity centers offer the comfort of all private labor and delivery rooms, and maternity suites with bassinets for baby.

New Renovation Means Top Care Delivered in a Comfortable Space

If you require special care because of age, a medical condition or because you are expecting multiple births, our Perinatal Diagnostic Center has you covered. The Center’s team of maternal-fetal medicine specialists work in collaboration with your obstetrician to help ensure good health for Mom and baby. Our perinatal center is part of a 13,000-square-foot renovation that also includes an expanded labor and delivery unit, C-section operating rooms, and associated post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). 

If you require hospitalization during your pregnancy, our High-Risk Perinatal Center provides expert around-the-clock care. And if your baby is born with medical problems, you have the added peace of mind knowing your baby is in good hands in our neonatal unit.  Holy Cross Hospital’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit cares for more newborns with complex medical issues than any other hospital in the region, and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital's Special Care Nursery is a fully-equipped Level II Neonatal Unit for babies born up to two months early or who require a ventilator for less than 24 hours a day.
